今年ももうすぐ年末年始。

 毎年、一番楽しみにしてる１年に１度の番組も、もうすぐ。

やりすぎコージーの大晦日特大版。
カウントダウン明けてから朝まで９時間くらいの生放送。
これを見なきゃ年は明けね〜ぜよ。

でも今年は（てか来年は？）フジでキャンパスナイトフジの特番もある。
こちらもカウントダウン後６時間の生放送。

ケンコバがテレ東に行けないじゃないか、と嘆いていたが
こちらとしても、どっち見りゃいいんだよ！と嘆く。
どうせ正月番組はおもしろくない家族向けが多いんだから
正月中頃にでもフジでやってくれればいいのに。
そこ重ねて来るなよぉぉぉ！！

ブルーレイちゃんに頑張ってもらおう。
そして俺は年明けて早々テレビに釘付けちゃん。
海外にいてもこの時期だけは日本にいたいといつも思う。
正月を味わいたいと言うより、ただこの下らない番組のために。

俺って一体・・・・・。

NY Diary #3

寝込んでた分を取り戻すべく、この日から朝から夜まで動きまわる。
From this day, I walked lot from morning to evening
to get back sleeping days.


８日目はまずクイーンズの方にある『PS1』に行く。
Went to PS1 Gallery in Queens on the 8th day.

ここは現代アートを昔小学校だったところを使って展示している。
周りは特に何もないヘンピなところにあるが、展示はよかった。
学校だったので、やたらトイレがいっぱいある。
This gallery was used to be a primary school
and is showing contemporary art now.
It was a very nice gallery, even nothing around it though.
Many toilets as it used to be a school.

↓これ１階から見ると小さなプールなんだけど
地下に行くと、そのプールの中に入れる。不思議な空間。
I saw a small swimming pool on ground floor
and I could get in the pool on basement. It was interesting!

そして街へ戻り、NY消防博物館へ。
ここは前も来たので中は見ず、ショップだけ見て色々４点購入。
After the gallery I moved to the city
and arrived at NY Fire Museum.
I've been here before, so just saw in the shop and got 4 stuffs.


夕方から無料で入れる時間にMOMAへ。
Went to MOMA on free admission time.

膨大な量を人ごみの中なんと１時間半で見る！
Took only 1 and half hours to see all art works!



９日目。土曜日なので朝からフリマをかけもち。
ヘルズ・キッチンというフリマが一番大きいと聞いていたのに
朝雨だったからか、規模も小さくショボかったのは残念。
一応収穫はあったけど。
そのあともっと小さいのを２件廻るも特にナス。
On saturday, I went to Hell's Kitchen Flea Market-the biggest one in NY
but it was bit wet in the morning, so not many there. shame.
Then seen other 2 markets.

NYは３度目だが一度も訪れてなかった念願のチェルシーホテルへ出陣！
観光客丸出しで、泊まり客でもないのに写真を撮りまくってたのだが
他にもそんな人たちが出入りしてて安心。
It was a 3rd time to visit NY but haven't been here.
My dream - Hotel Chelsea!!
I was taking pictures of lobby even I didn't stay there
but many tourists were also taking and that made me relieved.

小さなロビーにはソファーやイスと共に
壁、天井に色んな人たちの作品が飾られている。
Lots of sofas and chairs in a small lobby
and there are many art works on walls and ceiling.

と、あるイスに腰掛けながら写真を撮っていたら
杖をついたおじいさんが外から入って来た。
そのままあたしのとこに来て、「そこは俺の席だ。どけ。」と。
こんなに他にイスが余ってるのに？！　どうしてもここ？？
「あ〜すんません。」と譲ると、「ほら見ろ。」と言ってきた。
イスの背もたれに本が一つ置いてある。「俺の席だろ？」
んなこと知らねぇ〜よ！
When I was taking pictures sitting on a chair
a old man with a stick came into the hotel.
He came to me straight away and told me "It's my chair! Move!!".
What?! You can sit other chairs! Why this one?? I thought.
I just said "Oh sorry" and gave him that seat, he said "See?"
One book was put on the back of the chair. "That's why this is my chair."
What the hell?!

そんな話はどっかにやって、
このホテルはアーサーミラーがここで執筆してたとか
アーサー･C･クラークがここで『2001年宇宙の旅』を書き上げた とか
ボブディランが作曲をしてたり、ジミヘン、ジャニス、ジョンレノンなど
多くのミュージシャン、文学、芸術家から愛された有名なとこだ。
今でも芸術家たちが長期滞在してる。
Anyway, you may know, this hotel is famous for being loved
by lots of musicians, writers and artists.
Arthur Miller wrote something here,
Arthur C. Clarke wrote 2001: A Space Oddyssey,
Bob Dylan composed songs and also Jimi Hendrix,
Janis Joplin, John Lennon etc...
Still various artists stay long nowadays.


だが、もちろんあたしがここに来た理由はシドの魂を追いかけて。
シドが恋人のナンシーを刺し殺してしまったことでも有名なホテル。
But the reason why I visit there was chasing Sid Vicious soul..
This place is also famous because Sid has stabbed Nancy to death.

もしタイムマシーンがあったらいつに戻りたい？
あたしはいつもこう答える。
１９７９年２月１日。シドが死ぬ１日前のニューヨーク。
シドには若く死んで伝説なんかになってほしくなかったです。
お爺さんになるまで生きて、伝説であってほしかった。
満１歳のあたしには何もできませんでしたがね。
When do you wanna go back in if there is time machine?
I always answer like this.
New York City on 1st Feb 1979 when one day before Sid dies.
I didn't want him to die young and be the legend.
Wanted him to live till he gets an old man and be the legend.
Well, of course one year old me couldn't do anything for him though.

そしてホテルの話じゃが、玄関の壁に著名人たちとの歴史が書いてある。
でもシドの事は書いてませんでした。殺人事件を起こされたからかな
と思ってたが、ちゃんとサイトには書いてあった！
There are plates say histories with famous people
on the wall of entrance. There was no name of Sid.
I thought it's coz he caused murder case.
But it is on the hotel website! That's good.




その後、絵本屋などを巡り夕方にNJに帰宅。
急いでハロウィンの衣装に着替え、車で１時間ほどの
Chisaさんの友人の別荘へ到着。
３カップルと独身女子２人と赤ちゃんの計９人でパーチー。
うちらはそれぞれクレオパトラ、オースティンパワーズ、消防女に扮し
他にはスタートレック夫妻と蜂の赤子。

Then came back to NJ before evening
and changed to Halloween costume quickly
to head to Chisa's friends' summer house.
The party with 3 couples, 2 single women and a baby!
There were Cleopatra, Austin Powers, Star Trek Couple,
baby bee and fire girl of course!!

家主夫妻は普段着。でもおうちの外と中を飾り付けしてあった。
ちらし寿司やチキンの丸焼きやリゾットなどを持ち寄り食らう。
Chisa cooked  Chirashi-sushi and roasted chicken
and Star Trek cooked Risotto.

アメリカで初めて本場のハロウィンでした。
でも午前中から歩き回ってたため、異常に睡魔に襲われる。
It was the first time for me to feel Halloween in US!
But got very sleepy as I walked around from the morning..



NY最後の日は車でブルックリンのダンボ地区へ。

On the last day in NY, we went to Dumbo area in Brooklyn.

そして空港へ。次からサンフランシスコ日記だすー。
Then head to the airport.
San Francisco is coming next!

NY Diary #2

４日目は朝からブロンクス動物園へ。
少々値段は張るが、多摩動物公園のように森林の中にある感じ。
平日だからか、こんなものなのか、客が少ねぇ。
On the 4th day, we went to Bronx Zoo.
It was bit expensive but surrounded by woods and spacious.
There were not much people as it's a weekday or just as usual.


虎のとこではちょうど餌付け＋芸をさせる時間だった。
お手したり、立ったり、ゴロンとしたりを唸りながらやらされていた。
ここはサーカスか。It was time for the show at Tiger section.
The staff made tigers to raise their hands, stand up & lay down.
Did I come to the circus??


小便中の虎さん。A peeing tiger.


そしてなんと言ってもお目当てはゴリラ！
なんとここ、２０頭あまりのローランドゴリラちゃんたちがいる。それも行って驚いたのは、ゴリラたちが人間に興味津々なのじゃ。
ガラスに張り付いてこっちを観察してる子や
手を合わせてくる子や、ガラスの前を走り回る子、
こっちに突進してくる子と、
まぁどっちが見られてるのか分からなくなる。日本の動物園ではあまりない光景。
向こうも色んな人間が来るのを楽しんでるよう。The best I was looking forward was Gorillas!
There were about 20 Roland gorillas.
I was so surprised that they were very interested in us!
One is sitting just behind a window and staring us,
one tries to put hand together, one is running around windows
and one rushes towards us.
We couldn't tell which is behind glass windows.
Looked they were enjoying to see various human beings.


夕方からはチェルシーマーケットやミートパッキングら辺を見て回る。
ハロウィンも近いので、ほとんどの店がハロウィンだらけ。Then we moved to Chelsea Market and Meat Packing area.
Every shops & restaurants were decorated for Halloween as its season.
そしてハロウィンの日用に、あたしも衣装を買った。
ミニスカ消防士でごわす。それしかないっしょ。
I got a costume for Halloween night.
Of course, fire girl's costume! Just for me!


そんで翌日は雨。朝から発熱。３８度以上。
あ。旅中なのに。ニューヨークなのに。なんで高熱。
数週間前にも急に発熱してたので、原因はすぐにわかった。
風邪ではない。インフルでもない。
数日前から貼ってたニコチン・パッチだ！
ヘビースモーカーでもなく、小柄で細いあたしには
どうやら貼るとニコチン過剰摂取になるらしく熱が出る。
なので２日間禁煙し、寝込む事となる。NYで何してるんざんしょ。
Next day it was raining and I had a high fever. More than 38c.
It's a middle of my travel in NY. Jesus F*cking Christ Ne.
Well I had a same fever few weeks ago
so I knew it's not a cold or flu.
It's caused by Nicotine Patch which I put since few days ago.
It was like over-dose as I'm not a heavy smoker and small&skinny.
So I was sleeping for 2 days without any fags.



ということで、跳んで７日目だす。
なんとか２日間で体調を治し、マンハッタンへ。
なぜかforever21で色々冬物を買い込んでしまう。
アメリカのは混んでなくていいね。
デパートも見てみるが何もゲットせず。
が、スプリングStで立ち寄った店で、なぜか高級バッグを買う。
寝込んでて頭がどうかしてたのか、
旅行だ！やっほ〜い！と買ってしまう。
大切に使うべ。大切にしすぎて使わない事もないように・・
I tried to recover in 2 days and now the 7th day.
bought some winter clothes in forever21.
went to Bloomingdale's but didn't get anything.
But on Spring St, I bought an expensive leather bag!
Maybe my head was fucked up by a fever.
Will use it on a special day, not just keep it in a closet forever.


そしてその通りでフラッとスペイン料理屋に入る。
が、２０分かけて出て来たパエリアがべっちゃべちゃで
店員に「ちょっと想像してたのと違う」と言うと
なんとパエリア分の代金を引いてくれた。言ってみるものだ。
偉いぞ！Chisaさん！
Then we pop into a spanish restaurant on a same st
and we ordered a paella which took over 20mins to cook.
But it was too soft like a rice porridge and we couldn't eat much.
Chisa told a waitress that it wasn't like we imagined
then she subtracted the price for the paella!
Well done! Chisa!!


その後AMC映画館にて『かいじゅうたちのいるところ』を観る。
ストーリー的にはさほど何も起こらないし、短いが
キャラクターたちと全体の雰囲気はかわいかった。
子供の想像の世界なので、大人受けは悪いのかも。
なんか可愛かったので、個人的には☆3.8って感じ。
日本公開2010年1月。
After dinner we went to AMC Cinema
to see "Where The Wild Things Are".
The story was short and nothing happened much
but characters and atmosphere was so cute.
Many people put bad reviews,
maybe coz it's a kids' imaginary world.
Well for me it was warm & cute film and I say 3.8/5.


帰りに日本でなぜか話題のクリスピークリームでドーナツ購入。
駅構内にひっそりとある小さなドーナツ屋さん。
それもKMartとしか書いてないし。
もっちりしてて旨いが、なぜこれが日本に飛んで来て
行列を絶やさない人気店になったのかは七不思議。On the way back, we dropped into Krispy Kreme to get donuts.
it was very small shop in a station yard
and it only says KMart on the signboard.
I know their donuts are very soft and nice
but why the hell this shop came to Japan
and it's very popular as everyone ques??

NY Diary #1

もたもたしてると、だんだんめんどーになってくるので
（↑全部ひらがな〜）
早いとこアメリカ日記を書かねば。記憶を辿りながら・・・
I should write about my travel to US asap
before I forget or feel troublesome.



まず入国審査ですが、スムーズに行きました。
あたくし、アメリカは引っかからないみたい。
I could get through the immigration office easily this time.

経由地のミネアポリスは雪でした（空港から）
it was snowing in Minneapolis (from Airport)

NYでは（正確にはNJ）広告会社で一緒だった
Chisaさん家に泊めてもらいました。
初日は夜着いたので、近くのバーでアメリカンな食事で歓迎される。
In NY, well actually in NJ, I was staying at Chisa's
who I used to work with at ad company in Tokyo.
After I arrived at Newark airport at evening
they took me to very american bar to welcome me!
新婚でアメリカ転勤中のお二人。They are a newly-married couple.


次の日はマンハッタンへ行き、ひとつフリマを見る。
そこでブリキの消防車と消防車絵本を買う。Next day, I went to the city to see a flea market called Garage
and got a tin fire engine toy & children book.

お昼はベルギーパンのお店でランチ。
Had lunch at cafe which is famous for Belgian bread.

午後はクイーンズの方にお住まいの
これまた広告会社で一緒だったKanaeさん家を訪問。
旦那さんはクロアチア人で、息子レオ君はやんちゃ盛り。
男の子は大変だねぇ。
人見知りもせず人の膝にすぐ乗っかってくる感じ。Then we went to Queens to see Kanae who was also in a same ad company.
Her husband is Croatian and her son-Leo was so active.
He was always on a table or someone's knee.


日本語とクロアチア語と英語ができるようになるのかな？
he might be able to speak Japanese, Croatian & English soon!なんていう名前か忘れたけどクロアチア料理をテイクアウトしてくれた。
お肉！って感じだったけど、ピリ辛でうまかった。
Her husband has got take away of Croatian food.
It was like meat! meat! But spicy & tasty.




３日目はホーボーケンでおいしいブランチを。
On the third day, we had BIG brunch at Hoboken.
午後は車でブルックリンまで連れて行ってもらう。
チェコの友達が今NYに住んでいるので、彼女に会って来る。
大学院でまたアートの勉強をするらしい。うらやましいのぉ。Then they took me to Brooklyn by a car.
I saw Petra there, she is now living in NY to study illustrations.
wish I could study again!!


彼女は消防署の近くにお住まい。She lives near a fire station.
なんか騒然としたコインランドリー。Laundry jungle.

おじちゃんがガラクタを売ってるんだが、ガラクタすぎる・・
A man was selling his stuffs but they were too JUNK!

ゴリラも運転する時代かぁ。Can this gorilla drive?
青空に靴。Shoes in the sky.

本屋にいたニャンコ。A cat in a book shop.
ブルックリンを歩き回り、疲れ果て、帰宅。
おうちではお鍋をしました。ニュージャージーでお鍋。
Walked around in Brooklyn and got tired
then we had Japanese style stew at home.
